Waste guide

What can go in the bag — and what cannot.

This list is a placeholder policy for the prototype. Final rules must match disposal facilities.

Accepted

  • + Household junk and decluttering waste
  • + Garden waste, branches and clippings
  • + Timber offcuts and light renovation debris
  • + Plasterboard and fixtures (non-hazardous)
  • + Limited soil, brick, concrete or tiles within weight rules

Collection categories

  • Household junk. General household items, furniture (non-mattress), decluttering waste.
  • Green waste. Garden clippings, branches, leaves and similar organic garden waste.
  • Renovation waste. Timber offcuts, plasterboard, fixtures and mixed DIY renovation debris.
  • Mixed household and renovation. A mix of household junk and light renovation materials.
  • Soil, brick, concrete or tiles. Heavy materials. Prototype rule: keep well under the bag weight limit — typically only a shallow layer. Heavy materials can exceed the bag weight limit quickly. Keep soil, brick, concrete and tiles to a shallow layer and never overfill.
